Sorry for the wait

Sorry about not making a blog post in a while. I have been meaning to find time to make a post, however, I have been so busy with school work and the volunteer activities that I have decided to become a part of. Scott and I both decided to join two programs, DREAM and the Saint Michael's Fire and Rescue (but we only do the firefighting). In case you were wondering, DREAM is a MOVE (mobilization of volunteer efforts) group which focuses on giving children mentors who will be there for them for their time at Saint Mike's. Each Friday, we meet with our mentees and have some cool activity and on Wednesdays we have our meetings, so for those two days I have been swamped and Thursday nights I have a 6:30-9:30 class for firefighting and then son Saturdays I have an 8:30-4:30 firefighting practical, so I get tired and have been putting off blog posts for a while and I apologize. Anyways, because I used my volunteer groups as an excuse to not have made a post in a while, I figure that I should talk more about the MOVE program and maybe the programs I'm involved with. Basically, the MOVE program is a volunteer program that puts out several events every week and gives us plenty of opportunities to do unique and fun volunteer opportunities. One of the really big events that they have that fills up very fast is Correctional Volleyball and it's where you go down to one of the local jails and you play volleyball with the inmates who have been given the privilege to play because they have been behaving well. There are plenty of other fun activities too! I know that I want to sign up for a lot of them, but I just don't have the time for them all! But if you ever get the chance, signing up for a volunteer opportunity is one of the most rewarding things you could possibly do.

The fire department here at St. Mike's is not connected to the school, it's just affiliated with it but a good amount of students sign up to work there. There are two programs within it, there's fire fighting and there's rescue, and each of the departments within has special classes where the students can go in order to become a part of the program. I don't know exactly what the schedule is for the students who are doing the rescue training is, but I know that with the fire department, there is definitely a lot of time that has to be put in and it's not always easy, but that in the end, when I am able to become a part of the team, it's going to be worth all of the time I put in now.

So basically, I just wanted to apologize for not writing a post in a while, I'll try to write more often from now on. If you want to look up more on the MOVE program of the Fire Department, the links to read more will be below.
