I know I always use this excuse, but I have been really busy again, so that is why I haven't posted in a little while. Basically, as the midterm has been nearing, my classes have been giving out a lot of homework so that we can move faster and finish off the semester strong. Not only do I have this homework and these classes, though, but I also have fire classes, as Tim has said. This past Saturday, we had our first practical for the classes, where we put on our gear a ton and took off our gear a ton, and then we put on our air tanks and did that over and over again so that we would get the hang of it. Though it was tiring and hot, I really enjoyed it. I am looking forward to the fire department more than anything. I also have been working hard at DREAM to make sure that my mentee enjoys going to DREAM, and I signed up to become a van driver so that I can drive the kids back and forth and switch off with the other mentors so that they do not all have to do it weekly. So I have been really busy.
The good thing is that I can relax this weekend. It is a long weekend, and for the first time since I got up here, I am going home for the weekend to see my family and friends and my dogs. I have missed everyone back home a ton, and while I feel at home up here, it's a relief knowing I will see my actual family. I have missed my three dogs so much, and can't wait to go home and pet all of them and play with them all. I talk to my parents on the phone almost nightly, but I really can't wait to get home and actually see them. I'm also going to go back to my old school this weekend for homecoming, so I will get to see all of my old friends from back home and get my yearbook. I really cannot wait for this weekend, and these past two weeks have been dragging on because I have wanted to go home so badly.
