Been A While

Hey everyone,

Sorry that it's been so long since I posted. I was sick this past week and have had a ton of work to do. I have already gotten signed up with several programs at the school now. On this upcoming Monday, I am playing correctional volleyball with Tim and our friend Jake, and two people who we don't know. This is where we go and play volleyball with inmates in jail, and I heard that it always fills up fast, so as soon as I saw it we had to sign up. I also have been accepted as a DREAM mentor, meaning that every Friday I, along with a big group of other kids, go and mentor young kids. We have only met one Friday so far, but it seems like this will be fun. On the 27th, I also start classes for the Fire Team here at St. Mike's so that I can eventually become a firefighter, which I am really excited about. This past month (almost) has flown by so fast. I really miss my home a lot at times, but my friends keep me happy. I make sure that I talk to my parents on the phone several times a week, and I call my grandparents and my aunt also. The one thing that really gets to me is that I cannot see my dogs. I have three dogs (two lab mixes who are brothers and a beagle, all rescues). Every day that I was home this summer, I just laid down with my dogs all day, but knowing that I cannot do that until I go home this next month and knowing that it will only be for a few days hurts. At the same time, though, it is all worth it for how much I enjoy St. Mike's. Well that pretty much sums up everything I have to say in this post.
