Apple picking!

So today I decided to do the freshman apple picking because it was something to do and it was one of the most fun activities I've done here so far. We went to an apple orchard and picked apples. That alone is always fun and was a great experience in itself. However, you have to add to the mix the great cause that it was for. We ended up donating hundreds and hundreds of apples to the Chittenden food shelter. It was a blast. The faces that the workers there had as we brought in apples alone made it worth it, but then we were told that these apples would feed thousands for several weeks. It was my first experience with MOVE (mobilization of volunteer efforts) at SMC, but no doubt it will not be my last.
